Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is committed to promoting industrial development and attracting investment. The government is ready to extend full support to investors, both large and small. He said that investment creates jobs, and Madhya Pradesh has earned investors’ trust and confidence.
The Chief Minister addressed the inaugural programme of Crompton Greaves’ new power transformer manufacturing unit at Badiyakhedi in Sehore district on Saturday. He also launched the rollout of the unit’s first transformer. The facility is the largest of its kind in the country.
He said that the inauguration of CG Power and Industrial Solutions’ new ₹900-crore power transformer manufacturing plant on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami is a major achievement for the entire region. He said that investor-friendly policies have led to healthy competition among major companies to set up industries in Madhya Pradesh. The state is emerging as the preferred destination for investors. Factories being established in the state not only manufacture products but also create employment opportunities and pave the way for greater prosperity.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is progressing rapidly in tandem with the country’s development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. New industries create local employment opportunities for youth while expanding business and economic activity. Higher industrial investment strengthens the state’s economy and expands the resources available for development and public welfare. The state government is working to attract maximum investment so that it translates into industrial growth, employment and overall development.

The state government is committed to providing all possible support to investors setting up industries. The state has created a conducive investment environment to accelerate industrial development and generate new employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said that the inauguration of the country’s largest transformer manufacturing unit in Sehore is a historic occasion. The facility will play an important role in transforming the country’s energy and industrial ecosystem. He said that “from dies to transformers, everything is now being manufactured in Sehore,” which reflects the district’s growing industrial development.
World’s Largest Transformer Manufacturing Unit Set Up in Record 13 Months
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that following the bhoomi pujan held in August last year, the world’s largest transformer manufacturing factory in Sehore has commenced operations in a record 13 months. The power transformer manufacturing unit of CG Power and Industrial Solutions will play a major role in transforming India’s electrical ecosystem.
The unit will bring about a significant transformation in the region. He said that Sehore is now emerging as a manufacturing hub, with products ranging from tyres to transformers being produced here. He said that CG Power and Industrial Solutions has reached a new milestone in Madhya Pradesh after nine decades of its journey. The unit will manufacture a large number of transformers every year and provide employment to 2,000 people.
Sehore Emerging as a Major Economic Hub
The Chief Minister said that Sehore is also developing rapidly as a tourism destination. The district is now part of the Bhopal Metropolitan City, which will benefit its residents in the future. Its inclusion in the metropolitan region will expand industrial, commercial and employment opportunities in Sehore. With improved roads, transportation and other infrastructure, Sehore’s integrated development with Bhopal will gain further momentum.
The region is expected to emerge as a major centre of economic activity in the coming years. The Chief Minister congratulated the Crompton Greaves (CG) group on the achievement. He said that the state government would extend all necessary assistance in making land available to CG Power and Industrial Solutions as required.
World’s Largest Transformer Testing Laboratory
CEO of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Amar Kaul said that the new facility marks an important milestone for the company. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target to increase the share of manufacturing in India’s GDP from 13 per cent to 25 per cent by 2035. The new Crompton Greaves power transformer manufacturing unit in Sehore has created 2,000 jobs.
The company is using modern equipment for production and has also established the world’s largest transformer testing laboratory at the facility. He said that 36 per cent of the electricity required for the unit will be sourced from solar energy. The company is committed to contributing to the building of a developed India and a prosperous Madhya Pradesh.
CM Yadav Visits CG Power Manufacturing Unit
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the transformer manufacturing unit of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited in the Badiyakhedi Industrial Area of Sehore. He reviewed the transformer manufacturing process, modern technology and production capacity at the facility. The Chief Minister also discussed the facility’s operations and expansion plans with company officials and emphasised the need to promote large-scale industrial investment and create more local employment opportunities.
Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma, MLA Sudesh Rai, MLA Ramakant Bhargava, several other public representatives, and a large number of company officials and employees were present at the programme.
