Where To Invest For The Next 2 Years? Here’s What An Expert Recommends

If you are wondering where to invest your money over the next two years, an expert has shared his views on how investors could allocate their equity portfolios between large-cap and small- and mid-cap stocks. He sees potential opportunities across both segments, though returns may vary depending on market conditions and individual stock performance. These views represent the expert’s opinion and do not constitute investment advice from Times Now Digital.
G. Chokkalingam Head of Research at Equinomics Research told Times Now Digital, “for the next two years it would be good to put equity allocation equally between large caps, small & mid cap segments equally. In the last two years, Sensex, Nifty failed to give any positive returns. In the next two years, they are likely to give significant returns. While Nifty is down nearly 15 percent from its 52 week high, Nifty earnings are likely to grow in decent double digits. However several individual small and mid cap stocks also offer possible wealth creation opportunities. Rally in SMC indices is not widespread. Many individual stocks within SMC pack are down 30 percent to even 50 percent from their records highs of 2024. There are many promising themes (capital market intermediaries etc) which are there in SMC but not in Sensex/Nifty baskets. Also there are many deep value and uniques ideas within SMC segment exclusively. Hence equal exposure between Sensex & Nifty basket and also SMC segment could be the possible ideal investment strategy for the next two years.”
However, investors must consider their risk appetite, investment horizon and financial goals before making allocation decisions. Small and midcap stocks can be more volatile, and past price declines do not necessarily indicate future gains. Market conditions and company fundamentals may influence returns across segments. Investors should assess these factors independently before making investment decisions.
